If you have ever found yourself saying “I don’t have time” then you will absolutely want to pay attention to the contents of this post. By implimenting an automated Aweber Broadcast into your marketing you will certainly grab back some of your precious time.

Here’s How It Works:

You can set up Aweber to automatically send out a Blog Broadcast which contains links to x number of blog posts on your blog (where x is a number you can choose).

I have set mine to 5 as most weeks that’s the number of blog post I publish. So after 5 new blogs posts have been published on my blog, Aweber automatically sends out an email to all my subscribers.

This is fantastic for subscribers who may have missed a few posts, as theycan now click on the link in the broadcast and catch up on what they missed.

A curious thing happens when my automatic Aweber Broadcast is sent…. I have an increase in my blog visitors for that day. I also have an increase in comments, enquiry for service which of course rolls up to income.

Here’s what you need to do to set up your broadcast:

1. Sign in to Your Aweber Account

If you do not have an existing account, then sign-up or register for a new account. You have to make sure that you have selected the correct Current List. The current list is the broadcast list where you wish to send the blog to.

2. Point your cursor at “Messages” in the tab menu. Don’t click. A drop-down will appear containing 3 options:

“Follow Up”

“Broadcast”

“Blog Broadcast”

3. Click on “Blog Broadcast”. The Blog Broadcast Edit Page will appear

4. Click on the big green button, “+ Create New Blog Broadcast”

5. This is where you start to build your automatic Blog Broadcast. Firstly, enter your blog’s RSS feed URL

6. Select a template and click the ‘Load Template’ button, there are many to choose from

7. When you click the ‘Load Template’ button, the necessary code for the automatic links will be added to the template area

.

8. You may wish to edit the automatic loaded code by including a welcome introduction and close. This is how I word mine:

9. Change the subject line of the email

10. Best practice is to create another message in the “plain text” box because not all html messages are accepted. This is easily done by copying/pasting the text from the HTML box

11. You may now schedule your blog broadcast

Set how many times you wish to send your blog broadcast. You can choose on which day and at what specific time it is to be broadcast.

This is where you can choose to automatically send your email or if you prefer preview it first before sending. All you have to do is check or uncheck “Send Automatically” box.

There are also additional features available like tracking clicks on blog broadcast links and blog broadcast syndication.

I have set my broadcast to be sent automatically whenever 5 blog posts have been reached. I like to track clicks also as this lets me know what interests my readers.

12. Finally, and most importantly DO NOT forget to save your blog broadcast

When you have set up and saved your Aweber Broadcast, that’s it. Your blog’s newsletter will be sent out automatically to all your subscribers.

A terrific way to get ahead on the net and life in general is to learn from and avoid the mistakes that others make. I’ve certainly made plenty of mistakes in the past but I thought I would share my top web design tips over the coming weeks in the hope that you can learn and benefit from them.

Web Design Tips #1.

Not backing up. One of the keys to keeping your online business intact and running without interruption is to regularly backup all your work. There’s nothing worse than losing files, especially ones you cannot replace. Without a backup plan not only do you risk losing the hours and days of work put into creating those files, but you will also lose time having to recreate them again and/or trying to find them somewhere else.

If you have a good backup plan, you won’t have these problems.

My Current Backup Plan Is Two Fold

An extrernal hard drive that sits beside my PC which is backed up to every night at 1am.

An automated backup of each of my blogs using a plugin call WP Backup. This plugin emails a backup of each blog to a gmail account in the same name.

I started using an iPhone. I loved it so much I now have a Mac computer. With the addition of Mobile ME the information I select is updated each time there is a change made. This way I always have 3 sets of the same information in 3 different place at anyone time.

I love Mobile ME because it backs up everything offsite. Further, it’s password word protected which means nobody can access my files but me. I can also send a special password which can be time limited via email.

My backup plan is pretty extreme, however I’ve learned from not backing up how important it is, trust me, it’s a mistake you don’t want to make.
